Hunting Hearts Chapter II

                    Uhh... I couldn’t sleep well ever since that day... His smile keeps flashing back in my mind... Its been 2 days and I still can’t get over him... What is it that he has that enchants me so? Many questions still boggle in my mind.

*Flash back*

(In heaven)

                    “Lhia dear!” Mom hurriedly hugged me when I came inside the house with Miko. “Where on heaven have you been?” she asked.

                    “Well... It’s Where on ‘Earth’ have I been... Mom.” I softly said.

                    “WHAT?!?” she said with her voice rising. “You went to Earth and did not even tell me? Do you know how worried I am? That is it Lhia! You’ve crossed the line! You are grounded forever!”

                     “Huh? What for?!? Your not MY REAL MOM! You can’t tell me what to do and you specially can’t ground me forever!” I worriedly said...

                    “Yes I can, young lady! And right now, you are coming with me to the heaven council to have your angel wings! Whether you like it or not!” she furiously said as she grabbed my hand and drag me down to the heaven council. Well... there’s nothing I can do...

*Flash backs end*

                    And right now I’m lying here on my bed, grounded... By this time it should be sunset on Earth... I’ve always wanted to see what a sunset looks like. I can only imagine them from reading books, but I want to see what it really looks like. More importantly I want to know why Ryoji told such a lie. He didn’t really want to harm me, he was even protecting me... but why?!? WHY?!? Ahh! If only I could go back to Earth! Just one time!

                    Hey wait, maybe I can... *evil laugh* huhu! I’ll just sneak back in that door again, and now that I have my angel wings I wont have any problems going back here in Heaven! Haha! These wings are somewhat useful after all!

                    I opened the window in my bedroom and got out of the house, I ran towards the green hedge again and once more I followed the pathway and at the end of it I saw the door that helped me achieve my dreams. The door that connects heaven and Earth. I didn’t hesitate to go in, once I opened the door, I felt that sensation of falling again... but now I wasn’t afraid because I know that there was a person waiting for me on the other side of that door.

*BLAAG!*

                    Oww! I think I landed on something hard... tiles maybe? I couldn’t tell... Somehow I can’t feel anything I touch on Earth, I feel numb. =_=

                    Okay! Time to find Ryoji! I started walking from streets to highways and avoiding every other demons I see... But after an hour, I got tired of searching... Ugh! Where on Earth is he? I thought to myself... I stopped on a pier to rest... When I looked at the sea there was something orange on top of it, it was something that shines brightly through the horizon of the blue sea... what is it? Hmm... will I ever get to find him? I thought.

                     “Will I ever get to find him?” someone with a familiar voice said from behind me. I turned to look around and I was shocked to see...

                      “Ry..ryyo...Ryoooji?” I uttered out his name in a soft whisper, for I can’t seem to believe that Ryoji is standing right in front of me! Hey wait... What did he say? He said the same words that were on my mind! “Oh my gosh, Are you some kind of mind reader?!?” I asked him.

                     “No idiot... You are just soo easy to read, you’re like an open book.” He said while looking on another direction.

                     “What?!?! I am? (I felt embarrassed) Well... Ryoji kun what are you doing here?” I asked.

                      “I think that’s my line...” he said while he looked at me. Hehe, I guess instead of me looking for him, he ended up finding me instead. :) I let out a small giggle. “I guess instead of me looking for him, he ended up finding me instead...’ that’s what your thinking right?” Ryoji said.

                     “Hey! >_< stop that.” I said, geez! How does he do that? I’m not  really an open book right? Ehh...

                    “Anyways, you said you were looking for me... what do you want?” he said in a snobby voice. Oh yeah, right...

                     “Umm... I was just wondering, well... what happened the other day, I umm... you lied... didn’t you?” I curiously asked.

                     “....” he didn’t say a word. He was just staring blankly at me and it’s making me blush. (>///<) “ Is that why you came back here?” he said.

                    “Yes... I was curious why did you say all those things?” I asked.

                  “Well why do you think so?” he asked.

                  “I don’t think all demons are bad. Demons are also angels... to be exact they are fallen angels. They were angels that rebelled against God and as punishment he sent all those angels down to Hell to rule their own kingdom.” I said. “But you know what? I don’t think it’s their fault that they became like that... Maybe they were just lacking God’s love, and all that empty space in their hearts has been filled with hatred and evil... it is the absence of love after all...” I explained once more.

                   “Maybe... But I never thought you’d say that...” he exclaimed. I turned around to look again at the orange thing that is floating downwards on the sea. It’s so beautiful... Suddenly he stood beside me.

                     “Hey what is that orange ball that floats down the sea?” I asked him.

                     “hehe...” he uttered a gentle giggle that made me see his smile for the second time. (>////<) *blushing* “That orange ball is what you called sunset.” He explained.

                      “Huh? (o_o) That’s the sunset? Oh my...” I looked again at this what so called sunset... It was so beautiful and relaxing... I never thought that it would be this majestic... My eyes couldn’t leave the sight of this sunset. “Ryoji... you seem to know a lot of things here on Earth...” I said.

                        “Ofcourse... I’ve spent half my life wandering here...” he said, he then looked at me... I did the same. “Would you like me show you everything here on Earth?” he asked me.

                         I was shocked... Today he was sweet... he is even offering me something I’ve wanted long ago. “Yes!” I said and then smiled back at him.

                        Since then, whenever I come back at Earth without my mom noticing... he would teach me everything I need to know on Earth. Like why the water is salty and why people do these kind of stuffs... Even though I can’t touch him at least I can be with him. I’ve been doing this almost everyday, sneaking out of heaven and in Earth. Mom doesn’t even notice...

                     
              One by one my feelings change for him... I was feeling something different... something I haven’t felt before. Whenever I’m with him my heart can’t seem to stop beating faster than normal. Ryoji said that this kind of feeling is love. Good thing he didn’t ask who I was in love with.

                         Everyday I would meet him and he would show me around... We would talk a lot, he would make me laugh with his corny jokes... But his boastful and rude manners never changes, but I guess that’s a part of what I like about him. I know he’s nice, he just doesn’t show it, He would protect me from any danger there is and he would support me all the way... although he’s kind of support is... “Way the go idiot!” “Hey! Is that the best you can do?!?” “Are you stupid? Of course you are.”

                         And lastly he has that smile that just melts me away...  And we’ve been keeping this friendship for almost a month now without anyone knowing, I don’t care about the rules that Demons and Angels are forbidden to meet, as long as I’m with him... I’m happy...

*One night*

                     It was already dark when I sneaked out of my room to go to Earth... I had some trouble with my mom and lately she was getting suspicious. But I got out safely though. I flew down to Earth and I saw Ryoji waiting for me...

                     “Hey! I’m so sorry... I’m late! >_< Promise it won’t happen again!” I explained to him. But he didn’t say a word, in fact he just turned away from me. Uh oh, is he mad? O_O ... “Umm... are you mad?” I anxiously asked.

                     “No... I’m not...” he said... “Come walk with me...”

                    We started walking... What’s the matter with him? The sun was already down, maybe I made him wait too long? I spoke. “Umm... Ryoji, if you’re mad, I’m really sorry! I didn’t mean...”

                    “I told you! I’m not mad!” he turned around and shouted at me. I suddenly saw a large wound on his hand.

                    “Your hands! They’re wounded!” I surprisingly said. He didn’t say a word after that. But I noticed that he couldn’t stare at me straightly tonight. Then suddenly I realized that he was holding something on his other hand, something long and circular. “Huh, what’s that your holding, Ryoji?” I asked.

                     He showed me the thing that he was holding... It was a necklace made out of seashells! “Here... take it!” he said while looking on another direction...

                     “Did you made this?” I asked. He just nodded and I could see that his face was quite redish... I happily accepted it... “Thank you I love it!” I said. I saw that there were initials that were encrypted on the shells... L and R... aww how sweet! XD

                     “Lhia, would you come with me? I have one last thing to show you.” He requested.

                    “I’d be happy to!” I cheerfully said. That night we walked on the beach. He asked me to sit on the sand beside him. I wonder why. I did what he said. “So Ryoji what do you want to show me?”

                     “That...” he said while pointing out his finger on the sky. I looked at the sky and I was surprised to see so many twinkles of light in the dark sky! I was enchanted by it! There were so many I couldn’t take my eyes of off them! “Those are called ‘stars” Ryoji said. These stars... are so amazing! Both of us laid down to the softness of the sand while watching the sparkle of each star.

                      Then suddenly I saw a star unlike any other! It was moving! It was gracefully flying with its long shinning tail! I sat up and became amazed more by it!

                       “That’s called a shooting star... they say that if you wish from it, your wish will come true.” He said as he sat up.

                        “Well... My wishes already came true...” I said as I smiled at him. He felt a little embarrassed by what I said. I can’t hide my feelings anymore, if there was anytime to say it now would be the best. But I feel afraid of how he might react... But its now or never, I think I’m in love with him so I better say it. >_< “Umm... Ryoji!” I nervously and hesitantly said... “Umm....” He was simply staring at me, ahhh! I can’t say it! Ugh... I looked down to myself and stayed quiet... huhu T_T . I know that he wouldn’t like me the same way anyways. I think were better off being friends.

                    “Hey... Lhia.” Ryoji said. I looked at him with great disappointment. At first we stayed quiet and just stared at each other. But then he spoke words that made me flattered.            “Lhia... I think... I... I love you...” he softly said.

                    His words suddenly hit me like lightning... It was unexpected yet unbelievable... I was surprised and speechless and my face became redder than tomato. I couldn’t move either... I just never thought he’d say the same thing I was about to.

                    “Well?” he said... suddenly his expression changed, he became angry... “Tsk... that was stupid of me to tell you my feelings... I shouldn’t have done that. If you don’t like me then just tell me so!!! I don’t want your sympathy!” he said while he looked down feeling depressed. He was getting ready to stand up when I spoke.

                    “No! Wait! I’m sorry! Your mistaken... you see, I.... I love you too! (>////<)” I hurriedly said. He stopped moving and stared at me... It’s making me feel all embarrassed... Somehow... I couldn’t take my eyes off of him and same with him also. Then suddenly he was moving his head closer to mine, I panicked... what’s he planning to do... he was leaning closer and closer to me. My heart suddenly beat louder more than ever. If he kiss me... then the rule between heaven and angels will... I became worried but his lips suddenly touched mine and it swept all my worries away. I closed my eyes and all I can think about is being with him. I don’t care if this love is forbidden, I love him and that’s all there is.

                    After a while our lips parted from each other and I can’t 

seem to stop myself from blushing while he just giggled in front of me. Our lips met yet nothing bad happened... what about the rule? Is this just an exception? Suddenly he talked to me.

                    “Lhia do you love me?” he asked out of the blue.

                    “Of course I do!” I unhesitatingly said.

                    “Then do you want to be with me?” he asked.

                    “If you want me to become a demon, then I’d do it! I’m ready!” I said.

                    “Stupid... that’s impossible. You’ll die if you do that.” He said.

                     “Oh, really? Then how?” I asked.

                   “We need to be humans.” He said.

                    “What?!? Is that even possible? How?” I curiously asked. He then showed me a small pearl. “What is that?”

                    “This is called ‘Life’...” he said. “This pearl is capable of taking over a body of a human by the angel who uses it, permanently.”

                    “An angel? Does this mean you can’t use this?” I asked.

                    “I can... but there can be side effects... If I devour a human body there is a possibility that I wont remember anything of being a demon, I can’t even remember you.” He said. “But let’s do it.”

                     “Wait! If you can’t remember me... then how will you find me?” I asked.

                      “Don’t worry... even if I lose all my memories, I’ll just come to love you all over again.” He said. That made me blush. “Well then are you ready?” he asked.

                       “Oh, wait!” I removed the seashell necklace from my neck and ran towards a big rock behind us. “Hey! Would you help me lift this rock up?” I asked. He helped me lift the rock and from under that rock I put the seashell necklace there.

                    “Why are you putting it there?” he asked.

                    “So that one day when we become humans, we’ll know where we put this. This will be the seal of our love!” I said.

                     “Oh, okay... well then, are you ready now? You should know that once we do this we will leave everything behind... your mother, your heaven and friends.” He explained.

                     “Yes! I’m ready...” I know I’ll leave everything behind. I’m 

sorry Mom. But this is my destiny, to be a human.

                     “Hey quit thinking about your destiny!” he said.

                     “Huh! Stop reading me! >_< Let’s just do it!” I said.

                     “Okay... hold my hand.” He said.

                     “But I thought...” I exclaimed.

                     “Our lips touched right? So how is it any different for our hands...” he calmly said. I touched his hand for the first time and it was so soft... Once we become humans, I’ll be with him forever. Then suddenly light flashed from the pearl... “Oh... Lhia I forgot to tell you, our souls will take over ANY human body.” He said.

                      “Even if I’d went to a body of a 99 year old woman, I know that you will still love me for who I am.” I said :) “I wont give up looking for you okay!” I exclaimed.

                       “Let’s promise that we’ll be together forever.” He said. I nodded with a smile on my face.. Then suddenly light was devouring my sight... little by little Ryoji’s face was fading. I was beginning to let go of his hand, I’m feeling heavy... Then suddenly everything turned black. “........” I feel faint.

*************Later*****

                        Ugh... Why do I feel different... I slowly opened my eyes... Ouch... It seems that I’m lying on a bed in some kind of room. Ugh... Ryoji...where are you? I feel heavy... I sat up on the bed and looked at my hands... They were not my hands... Ugh... I feel injured. There were bandages on my arms... Was it successful? Am I a human now? I noticed that there was a large mirror standing beside my bed. As I looked in it... I saw a person.... I saw a boy.... Who’s that? I tried moving my hands and the boy in the mirror moved his hands too! What the? And it was then that it hit me... O_O

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!

I WENT INSIDE THE BODY OF A BOY!!!!!

~Hunting Hearts~ Chapter I
+Opposite Attracts+

                    “Oops!” I better say something. “Umm... Why did you help that helpless old lady cross the street?” I asked him quickly.

                    “His eyes widened as I asked him, he looked shocked, His eyes tell me that I shouldn’t have seen what he did. His expression suddenly changed into anger.

                      “Forget everything you saw!” he shouted and then quickly turned his back away from me, he started walking away. I followed him.

                      “Hey wait! Please! I need your help!” I said while restlessly following him, but he ignores me. But I won’t give up! I kept on following him... I looked like his tail, or worse it’s like I’m his dog!

                     “Hey! I’m desperate! Please help me go back to heaven! Help me get home! Heeyyy!!! LISTEN YOU freak of nature! >.<” I said, woah! I think I got a little bit over used with words there... I can see that he’s really pissed, I can almost see his nerves cracking out. But he’s still not saying anything!!! I tried to grab his hand to stop him from walking but... when I was about to grab his hand he quickly avoided me and backed out away from me. He stopped walking and looked at me furiously...

                     “What do you think you’re doing?!?!?” he said ragingly. “Don’t you know that it is forbidden for an angel and demon to TOUCH!?!”

                    “Huh? Oh yeah... I guess I forgot about that hehe... ^^,” I giggled. He gave me an annoyed look.

                     “Geez! Leave me alone!” he said. He turned away from me...

                     “Ah wait please! I’m sorry! I just need help! Don’t go...” I said. He suddenly faced me again but this time he was slowly walking closer and closer to me. I suddenly felt afraid, I walked backwards and away from him. But he still continues walking on closer. O_O what’s he plan on doing?!? I got Goosebumps out of the blue, and then suddenly I realized that there’s a dead end behind me. Oh shacks! I can’t escape now! He still walked closer to me until our faces were at least 5 inches away from each other. He leaned his right arm on the wall on my left side. I felt scared, I looked at him (how charming! *.*) but whatever’s going inside his head I’m not gonna like it! I can’t move, there’s no escape! He spoke.

                    “What makes you think I’ll help you? I’m a demon.” he asked me with a grin.

                   “Because...because you helped that old lady!” I courageously said.

                   “Hmph... Demons and angels are sworn enemies, besides you’re mistaken I didn’t help that old lady...” he calmly said. “You know I can eat your soul right now without hesitation, are you scared?”

                   “You wouldn’t! I know you wont because... because you’re different! You are nice and I know it!” I said, he didn’t respond... instead he just stared at me seriously. “So will you help me please?”

                     “......” why the heck is he staring at me like that?!? (it’s making me blush) “No...” he said it so straight forward. He stepped back and walked away from me. Ehhh! I won’t give up, I still followed him.

                     “Hey! If you don’t help me, I’ll touch you! I mean it!” I threatened him. He stopped walking again and faced me.

                     “Are you scaring me? Do you even know what happens if an angel and demon touch?” he asked me...

                       “Actually... no..., do you?” I curiously asked him.

                       “Umm...” he was speechless... mostly clueless... “I don’t know either”

                       “So you’ll help me get home now? ^^” I asked with excitement.

                       “Ugh...” he sighed. “I’ll tell you what, angel... how can a demon like me possibly know the way to heaven huh!? I mean I’ve never been there!” he said.

                        “Oh, that’s right...hehe”(^^) I laughed.

                        “How stupid...” he said as he turned around and walked away.

                     “I guess I’ll be finding out my own way...” I said to myself, which I think he heard. “Hey!” I called him. He stopped and turned around to look at me again... “Thank you!” I said. “Umm... thank you for saving that old lady and thank you that you didn’t eat my soul!” I said, but he replied with a snob and continues to walk away. Well that’s a friendly way of saying you’re welcome... =_=

                      I started walking too, looking for someone to help me... After turning from block to block I almost gave up! But then when I turned around on a corner I saw 2 demons talking! Wow mother was right, this place is crowded with evil creatures. Hmm... maybe they could help me! That’s right, if that demon from before was nice then maybe these two are too! But what if they’re not? O_O Nah, I’ll just approach them nicely.

                      “Ummm... excuse me...” I said as I appeared behind them. They turned around and one of them said.

                       “Well, well... If it isn’t our lucky day!” he said. Lucky day? I got confused, I thought today was Friday the 13^th? 0_o ... “What are you doing here little angel?” he said with a soft voice, ha! I knew they were nice!

                       “Umm... you see I fell down from heaven and I wonder if any of you would know the way back?” I asked. They both had an eye contact.

                      “Of course we know the way back to heaven. Would you like us to escort you?” he said with a grin.

                       

                       “You do?” I said with excitement. “And you’ll escort me there?”

                    “Of course now come with us...” he smiled. Yes, finally! I never thought demons could be this nice.

                     Just when we were about to walk someone walked in front of us. It was that nice demon guy from before! I got all excited.

                      “Hey! Look, look! I found some nice people who can help me go home!” I happily said to him. But he just gave me a pitiful look that annoyed me.

                      “Hey, you two, get lost.” The charming one said to the two guys who were trying to help me.

                      “Hey get your own angel!” the other one said, then suddenly his friend who was awfully quiet a while ago spoke.

      

                       “Hey dude, isn’t that ‘Ryouji sama’?” he said.

                      “Darn! We stand no chance... let’s retreat fro now.” He said. And two other demons who were oh so willing to help me ran away because of him!

                       “Hey! Why did you do that?!? They were going to help me...”

                      “They were going to eat you, idiot!” he straight forwardly said to me. I was shocked. “Didn’t I told you before? No demon would ever know how to go back to Heaven! Why are you so gullible? They were probably luring you on their trap!”

                    “Umm... thank you...” I embarrassedly said, “Why do you keep doing that? Why are you so different? Why are you so nice?” I curiously asked.

                    “I’m not nice I just feel like helping a pitiful being like you.” He said with a grin. He then turned around and walks away again!

                    “Ummm... hey! Where are you going? Can I come with you?^^” I said as I followed him.

                    “Why? Would you care to come with me to the depths of hell?” he said. Hell? I certainly don’t want to go there!

                     “Can I just tag along?” I asked. I have no choice!

                      “Do whatever you want...” he carelessly said.

                       I’m here walking with him... homeless, there was an awkward silence between us. It seems he doesn’t like to talk too much. I’ll try to break the ice.

                       “Hey, my name’s Lhia, what’s yours?” I asked him. But he didn’t respond he just keeps on walking. “Hey! Hey! Hey! Did you even hear me?” I shouted.

                        “Geez! You’re so annoying! I heard you!” he said.

                     “Then why aren’t you answering me? At least introduce me yourself!” I said.

                     “Ughh (annoyed)... I’m not interested in your name!” he angrily said. Darn he’s cold... T_T.

                      “Hey that other demon called you ‘Ryoji sama’. Is Ryoji your name? And he called you sama! Are you some kind of master, prince or something?” I curiously asked.

                     “Maybe...” he said. Ugh, now that just annoys me >.<

                    “So Ryoji... aren’t demons suppose to have horns and a pointed tail?” I curiously asked.

                     “Well...aren’t angels suppose to have angel wings?” he said.

                     “Well... hehe about that...” I said. Then Ryoji stopped walking all of the sudden. I did too... 

                       “Huh what’s the problem?” I asked. *Blam* Then suddenly a beam of light almost hit Ryoji, it’s a good thing he dodged it. “Oh my gosh are you alright?” I surprisingly asked.

                        “Lhia! Get away from him!” I heard a familiar voice, then all of the sudden someone grabbed my hand from behind, I turned around to see who it was. It was Miko! My childhood angel friend! “You heartless demon! How dare you feast on the soul of my precious Lhia!”he said to him. Huh? Precious? O_O  

                    “Wait Miko! You’re misunderstanding! He’s...” but my sentence was cut because Ryoji spoke.

                     “Well... that’s too bad... If you didn’t came I would have eaten her already...” he said with a grin. What is he saying? Eaten me already? “Yep that’s right, Lhia... you see I was just playing with you and you fell for it... How stupid.”

                      “Stop what you’re saying... It’s not true...”What the heck is he saying? Does he mean that he was planning to eat my soul all this time? That can’t be true... It can’t be... 

                      “Stop scaring her or I’ll hit you again! You’ll put a trauma on Lhia!” Miko said.

                     “Oh, so you fired that weak beam... how useless... As much as I want to feast on the souls of angels, I’ll just let you two go just this once... but you should remember if I saw either of you two, I won’t hesitate on taking both of your souls...” he demonically said. Miko then grabbed me by the waist and summoned his angel wings... “Let’s go Lhia...” And by that we flew but I still looked down to see Ryoji, he was looking at me with such a serious expression. And as we fly nearer through the door, he smiled at me. The gave me a shock, I’ve never seen his smile before until now... And it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. But why would he say those things and just smile at me after? 

                       And by that I don’t ever want to go home, I want to ask him something... I still want to be with him... I open and close my eyes but all I can see is his smile...
